“Do You Understand??”
The Flaming Lips fashioned in Oklahoma Metropolis in 1983. Over the past 4 many years, they’ve put out 16 albums. In 1999, they put out their album The Comfortable Bulletin, and that introduced them a brand new stage of success. After which, in 2002, they adopted it up with Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots, which was their largest album up to now. Pitchfork named it one of many prime 5 albums of the 12 months, Stereogum known as it among the best albums of the last decade, they usually received a Grammy. And the most important track from the album was “Do You Understand??” So, for this episode, I talked to Wayne Coyne and Steven Drozd about how that track was first imagined. You’ll hear the very first demo Wayne recorded for the track, and the demo he and Steven put collectively later, on their technique to making the ultimate model with producer Dave Fridmann.
